Welcome

I am thrilled to make the move to second grade this year with so many of my first grade friends  from last year! This is my eleventh year of

   teaching at West Clay. I taught 4th grade for 3

    years, then 1st grade for 7 years before

     coming to 2nd grade. I received my  

      student teaching experience in 2nd grade, so

      it will be fun to return to this level!

 

      I was born and raised in Carmel, attending

     Forest Dale Elementary, Clay Middle School,

     and Carmel High School. I graduated from

    Indiana University with a degree in Elementary

  Education. 

 

In the summer of 2015 I got married. You might recognize my former name - Miss Gambrel. My husband, Ben, and I live in Westfield. You may have noticed there is another Mrs. Walker at West Clay who teaches 3rd grade. She's my best friend and introduced me to Ben, her husband's brother!

 

Ben and I welcomed our first baby in July 2016, Amelia Grace. She is the sunshine in our hearts, and the second graders will hear even more fun stories about her this year. 

 

I love to travel, visiting my mom in Florida and my brother and sister in California. I enjoy spending time with my brother and dad, too, who live here in town, and brother from Alabama.

 

I look forward to new adventures this year with my second grade friends!
